THE VALUE OF FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS RELATIONSHIPS
Having friends with benefits relationships has become very common. There was a time when this type of relationship wasn’t discussed in the open. Now even Olivia Pope announces her booty calls on late night television. The more I think about it, however, the more I agree that friends with benefits relationships might not be such a bad deal. Here are 5 reasons why:
- You can say yes or no before the relationship goes any further
- The expectations are clear
- No strings attached
- The relationship is usually more than casual before the connection
- They cut the burdens associated with traditional relationships
The perfect friends with benefits relationships occur with someone who is genuine and has characteristics that don’t make you wonder about their credibility. Imagine what your life would be like with someone like this.
I must confess. I am in a friends with benefits relationship and have been for over 18 years. We had many encounters over the years before I decided that this was what I wanted. Sometimes I gravitated towards the relationship and put my toes in the water. Finally I jumped in and I’ve never looked back. Who is this lucky person? No other than Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Now, don’t go looking at me sideways, hear me out.
