Greetings Family!

When tragedy strikes we often use the word resilient to describe how the affected person responds to the situation. Websters dictionary defines resilient as tending to, recover from or adjust easily to misfortune or change. One’s ability to recover from or withstand difficult situations.

Draw Near

What if instead of being resilient and bearing up under difficult situations you surrendered to the emotion that comes with it and draw near to God? What would it look like to draw near to his comforting arms? Draw near to his word. Draw near to his promises…weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning? (Psalm 30:5)

Your Feelings

In The Wellness Revelation book study we talk about feeling your feelings not doing them. Feeling your feelings requires you to know your thoughts draw near to God and celebrate his victory and the victory you have knowing him. It’s about escaping to your quiet place, giving your feelings a friend, surrendering and passing the baton to God. Sometimes drawing near includes extending forgiveness to others and/or yourself for the offending situation that requires resilience in the first place. To remain in the Lord allows Him to remain in you. This is the place where you bear fruit that enables you to move beyond your circumstances.

I leave you with this verse from John 15:4, “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.”

Question? What can you do to practice drawing near to God? Let’s talk.
