Ignoring what they said, Jesus told the synagogue ruler, “Don’t be Afraid, Just Believe.” Mark 5:36

What do you believe today? Is your belief limited by fear? What if I told you that fear and belief cannot occupy the same space and that one must die for the other to live? This verse is powerful and its impact profound because it is so simple. It gets right to the heart of the matter and gives you direction on how to squash fear…just believe.

Ignore the Naysayers

What does it take to believe? For starters you have to ignore the naysayers, even those in positions of power and authority. As a wise man once said, “when it comes to your issues they have not been given faith for your situation.” Everyone cannot see your vision, dream, or promise. And at the end of the day, its really not about them its about YOU. The definition of believe is to accept (something) as true; feel sure of the truth of. Believing requires faith. It calls on you to trust more than what your eyes can see.

Just Say No

Next, say no to toxic fear. Fear is your reaction to a situation. Healthy fear will keep you out of dangerous situations. Toxic fear will keep you from chasing your dreams. You decide which path you take. You decide if you will allow this emotion to control your destiny. It’s up to you to recognize it for what it is and choose not to let it control you. You control your mind and remember that you always have a choice about how you react to the emotion called fear.

Don’t be Afraid, Just Believe

Five words, seven syllables, big task. You’ve got this. When the struggle feels way too real. “Don’t be Afraid, Just Believe.” When the diagnosis isn’t so good. “Don’t be Afraid, Just Believe.” When the ATM receipt reads $0. “Don’t be Afraid, Just Believe.” When nothing you see supports that belief. “Don’t be Afraid, Just Believe.” Like Nike says, Just Do it ®.

  • Ignore the naysares
  • Say no to toxic fear
  • “Don’t be Afraid, Just Believe”
Question? What will you do because you are not afraid? Don’t be Afraid, Just Believe.
