shine

Shine…give out a bright light, a quality of brightness. I’ve been away too long, but I come bearing good news. It’s amazing how time flies. I wanted to share some updates and testimonials about the work I’ve been doing.  My desire is that by letting my light shine it will inspire you to do the same, at your own pace in your own time because life is not a race.

Women’s Health

I had the wonderful pleasure of traveling to New Mexico in October as part of my work to increase the impact of midwifery care as a public health solution to improving maternal and infant health. I also traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma in November to lend my insight and professional knowledge to that communities battle to cut maternal mortality rates (reduction in deaths related to pregnancy and childbirth). I’m grateful for the opportunity I have to be a part of the solution to improving women’s health. When our mothers and babies are healthy our communities are healthy.

Faith & Fitness Retreat

On October 31st I hosted my first annual Faith and Fitness Retreat. Here are some of the comments from attendees.

“This retreat blessed me beyond words.”
“Very eye opening and real. Love the connections to reality.’
“The retreat heightened my awareness of things in my life that I need to let go.”
“Learned new ways to improve my diet.”

As a facilitator the first testimonial speaks to my heart. I too was blessed beyond words. When the retreat was over I returned home feeling refreshed and at peace. I can’t tell you how often I feel drained after a speaking engagement or hosting a workshop, but not this time. As much as I poured out even more was poured into me. LaTonya and I (my co-facilitator) agreed that this retreat was confirmation that the Holy Spirit was present in that space.

  • We engaged in honest and open communication
  • New friendships grew
  • Aha moments took place
  • We danced and laughed, shaking our beauty
  • We waved our flags knowing that the battle is not ours but God’s
  • We committed to be present for ourselves and one another
  • We planted seeds for change

Each woman let her light shine bright like a diamond that day.

I also have to give a big shout out to Stony Point Center. The guest services were on point down to every detail. The food was delicious and nutritious and the facilities and setup were perfect.

Upcoming Events

Plans for the Spring retreat are in full swing and I hope you will join me. The retreat is April 15  – 17, 2016. I’ll be releasing more details about how you can secure you spot and enjoy an early bird discount. I’m a firm believer that whoever is supposed to show up will be there. Will that person be you? Think about it. Pray about it. Decide.

In health and vitality,
Tamara Wrenn
