We boarded the midnight flight to the Dominican Republic. The plane touched down at dawn on New Year's Eve to the sounds of cheering and clapping passengers. Our adventure began with one suitcase still in New Jersey, but we didn't let that rain on our joy as we embarked on a week of giving and receiving in the Dominican Republic.
