Tamara’s journey began with her own pregnancy and birth, causing her to develop a deep curiosity for maternal and child health, expanding into healthcare advocacy, and wellbeing. Her extensive experience has taken her across the United States and the Caribbean, where she actively engages communities in education, critical conversations, and training to address disparate outcomes. Her dedicated focus on enriching women’s, maternal, and perinatal health has been a driving force in her career.

In her role as a consultant, Tamara has been instrumental in driving advancements in healthcare advocacy education. Working with the Black Coalition for Safe Motherhood, Inc, her notable achievements include showcasing leadership in the transformation of the ACTT curriculum into a self-paced model. Additionally, Tamara has successfully secured Continuing Education Units, underscoring her commitment to expanding the accessibility and effectiveness of BCFSM’s healthcare advocacy education on a broader scale.
